U.S constitution is known to have 27 amendments in total that focused on safeguarding the interest of the society. Out of all these changes, one of the amendment that brought about a great change in the society was the women right to vote. Congress passed this amendment in the year 1919 on 4 June. However, it was approved in the year 1920 on 18 August. This was the 19th amendment of American constitution that granted women the right to vote. The 19th amendment in the constitution of America provided equal right to men and women with equal voting rights. It has been stated in the amendment that, the fundamental right of voters to vote shall not be abridged by United States or by any other State based on gender (Miller, 2008).
